Situation: When this project came in 600k over the $2.2M budget during the final phase of pricing, our future client had no choice but to drastically change gears.
With design review board approval already in hand and purchase orders for committed products, he needed quick solutions. The architect recommended Curran Young Construction for the job. We needed to cut costs by $600k, make up for lost time and preserve the exterior appearance of the building.
Solution: Curran Young Construction quickly teamed up with multiple trade partners, vendors, and the design team to create a solution that even the Pre-Engineered Building Supplier wasn’t sure would work.
The concrete tilt structure was replaced by a pre-engineered rigid frame steel skeleton with full metal & stucco cladding. The result was a higher R-value for greater energy efficiency, fewer columns for larger free open areas, faster construction duration, incredibly lower cost and one very ecstatic building owner!
